Richard Patton Smitherman, 38,
of Columbus, Ohio, died Wednesday at Doctor's Hospital in Columbus.
Graveside services will be held on March 3, 1996 at 2:00 p.m. at
Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Dr. Charles Durham and Dr Charles McCain
officiating.
Mr. Smitherman, formerly of Tuscaloosa, lived in Columbus for 19 years and was Director of Purchasing and Accounts Payable for the Ohio State Department of Workers Compensation.
He attended Tuscaloosa city school, the University of Alabama and was graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in Accounting. He was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.
Mr. Smitherman is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Smitherman of Tuscaloosa, a sister, Mrs. Ann S. Bryan of Northport, and a brother, David C. Smitherman of Mountain Brook, AL; nieces, Kathryn Ann Bryan, Sarah Patton Bryan, of Northport; nephews, David Van Antwerp Smitherman, Garett Patton Smitherman of Mountain Brook. The family reqests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the building fund at First Presbyterian Church of Tuscaloosa, The American Cancer Society, or the donor's favorite charity.
The family will receive friends at their home.
