Robert W. Smitherman, 64, of
Lucas, passed away on Feb. 28, 1999 at Medical Center of Plano. He was
born on July 19, 1934, in Van Buren, Ark., to Newton and Helen Louise
(Erke) Smitherman..
He married Delores Ruth Little on June 27, 1964, in Inglewood, Calif. Mr. Smitherman worked for Rockwell International for 30 years as a computer analyst. He was an avid golfer and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Plano.
Mr. Smitherman is survived by his wife, Ruth Smitherman of Lucas; sons, Robert W. Smitherman Jr. of Lucas and David A. Smitherman of Garland; grandson, David Austin Smitherman of Shreveport, La.; brother, Eugene L. Smitherman and his wife, Sharon, of Plano; sister, Betty Gaines and her husband, Ed, of Hacienda Heights, Claif.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at noon, Friday, March 5, 1999, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Phillip Mercer officiating. Interment will follow in Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, March 4, 1999.
