Roy C. Smitherman, age 73, of Valley Grande, AL, passed away March 30, 2014.He was preceded in death by his parents, Colonel and Ola Smitherman; brother, Grady Smitherman and sister, Betty Chandler.
Surviving are his wife, Judy Smitherman; children, Ray (Kim) Smitherman and Nancy (Roland) Griffin; brothers, Purvis (Rita) Smitherman and James (Susan) Smitherman; sister, Nettie Green and grandchildren, Austin Smitherman, Sterlin Trollinger, Heather Peoples, Trey Griffin, Emily Griffin, Braxton Peoples and Briah Peoples.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy DeBrabant officiating. Interment will be in Pineview Memory Gardens. Visitation was Monday, March 31, 2014 from 5-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Valley Grande Baptist Church Building Fund, 48 County Road 16, Valley Grande, AL, 36701.
