PRAIRIE - Ruth Christine
Smitherman Forrester, 60, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010, at Baptist
Memorial Hospital in Columbus. She was born Nov. 4, 1950, to Prentiss
Grady Smitherman and Bertie Mae Barnes Smitherman in Clay County. She
was a lifelong resident of Clay County and graduated from West Point
High School. She was a homemaker and a member of Friendship Baptist
Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Tisdale-Lann Memorial Chapel in Aberdeen with Bro. Mark Thornton, Lisa Henley and Lisa Weed officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, George Linroy Forrester of Prairie; two daughters, Kimberly Gale Kendricks (Raymond) of Cleveland, Tenn. and Amanda Lynn Tate of Prairie; a son, Christopher George Forrester (Jennifer Nicole) of Starkville; three sisters, Mary Elizabeth Smith and Margaret Guest, both of Prairie and Beatrice Nelson of Aberdeen; and eight grandchildren, Daria Bertie Bankston, Brittney Gale Kendricks, Miranda Justine Tate, Dustin Grady Tate, Heather Rae Kendricks, Faith Christina Sawtelle, Allie Nicole Forrester and Christopher Jacob Forrester.
She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers; and three sisters.
Pallbearers will be Barry Smitherman, Billy Joe Smitherman, Lee Henley, Raymond Kendricks, Chris Bankston and Dustin Tate.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Burch and Sam Burch.
