- Ruth Wooten Reavis, 80, passed away Monday,
September 22, 2008 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born August 1,
1928 in Yadkin Co. to the late Reid and Gertha Smitherman Wooten. Mrs.
Wooten retired from Hanes Brand Inc. (Sara Lee), after 38 years of
employment, then was employed by Superior Portrait Studios Inc. for
over 12 years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by
her husband, Dewey Clifton Reavis; one granddaughter; three brothers;
and two sisters. Surviving are two sons, Brad Reavis, Bob Reavis and
wife Mary, all of Winston-Salem; two sisters, Hope Sehested of Florida,
and June Tate of Greensboro; four grandchildren; two
great-granddaughters; and many loving nieces and nephews. A graveside
service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Gardens of Memory in
Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday
at Hayworth Miller Cain Funeral Home in Kernersville. In lieu of
flowers memorials may be made to the American Lung Association of NC,
