Shermie Lou Smitherman, 68, died Friday, Sept. 8, 2000, at a local medical center.
Services are 2 p.m. Monday at the Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery with Jack English officiating.
Ms. Smitherman was born in Kennard and moved to Abilene from Plainview in 1961. She was a sales person for a pharmacy and then worked for Southwestern Bell for 32 years. She was a member of Baker Heights Church of Christ.
Survivors include a sister, Rena Kight of Abilene; a close friend, Montressa Stambaugh of Abilene; and several cousins and other relatives.
