- Mrs. Stacey M. Smitherman, 25, died Thursday, November 11, 1999,
following injuries sustained in an automobile accident.Mrs. Smitherman was born April 30, 1974, in Jackson County. She was a daughter of William "Bill" Martin, Jefferson, and the late Mary A. Martin.
Mrs. Smitherman was a homemaker and a member of Brockton Road Baptist Church.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a son, Colten Riley Smitherman.
Funeral services were held Sunday, November 14, in the chapel of Jackson Funeral Home, Jefferson, with the Rev. Jesse Mealor and Dr. Gerald Mitton officiating.
Burial was in Jackson Memorial Gardens, Commerce. Steve Fields, Jody Fields, Terry Martin, Dean Martin, Henry Martin, Brian Martin and Jason Fields served as pallbearers.
Survivors, in addition to her father, include her husband, Steven Smitherman, Danielsville; and three sisters, Donna Hudson and Dawn Baker, both of Jefferson, and Teresa Greer, Statham.
Jackson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
