Smitherman, Stanley "Lightening"
age 81, of Randolph, AL passed away on Friday, February 01, 2013. He
was preceded in death by his parents, Sanford M. and America Jane
Smitherman; brothers, Harvey, James, and Grover Smitherman; sisters,
Clara Kelley and Dorothy Cooper.
Stanley's surviving relatives include his wife of 58 years Annette Smitherman; daughters, Julia Atchison and Michelle Mayfield; son, Nicky Smitherman (Mary); sister, Edna Brasher all of Randolph, AL, and a sister, Flora Jones of Montevallo, AL; grandchildren, Marcia Atchison, April Hobson (Kevin), Johnathan Smitherman, Laura Martin (Robert), and Morgan Mayfield; great-grandchildren, J W, Jacob, and Nathan Smitherman, and Alex Hobson.
Visitation will be held on Sunday Night from 6 to 8p.m. at the Shady Grove Baptist Church on highway 139, Randolph, AL. Funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:00a.m. at the church. He will lie-in-state one hour prior to his services. Officiating his services will be Bro. Stan Huguley and Bro. Ronnie Hicks. Burial will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery.
