Randolph, Ala., Oct 20 ---Mrs. Stephen Smitherman, 60 years of age, a most worthy and exemplary citizen, living six miles of Randolph, committed suicide Sunday morning by blowing his brains out with a shotgun, while laboring under a fit of temporary insanity.

Mr. Smitherman told his wife what to prepare for dinner, and said that he would go to his room and take a nap in the meantime.  In less that two minutes thereafter his wife, hearing the report of the gun, ran to his room, only to find her husband dead and walls spattered with his blood and brains.
