Sybil E. Bruns, 94, of Van Buren, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008 in Van Buren. She
was born June 5, 1913 in Crawford County. Sybil was the daughter of Issac Newton
Smitherman and Lulu A. Smitherman. She was the wife of Frederick (Pete) L.
Bruns. She was the mother of Mary Frances Lacey, Carl W. Bruns and Frederick
Bruns.
She was a receptionist at Crawford Memorial Hospital and Edds Clinic in Van Buren. She was a member of the Eastern Star, a volunteer of Summit Medical Center Auxillary and the Red Cross. She was a member of First Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by her husband, F.L. "Pete" Bruns and a son, Frederick C. Bruns.
Graveside service will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 10, 2008 at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home with Dr. Scott Maze officiating.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Carl W. and Daisy Bruns of Van Buren, AR; three grandchildren, Karla Booth of Edmond, OK, Lulu Bruns of Van Buren, Carl W. Bruns II of Fayetteville, AR; 5 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
She is also survived by a daughter, Mary Frances Lacey; 6 grandchildren, Kenny, Butch, and Brad Trent, Kay , Mary Merechka, and Amy Furr; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren all of Van Buren.
