Teresa Marie
Boatwright, age 47, born June 29, 1956, passed away on January 7
at Iowa Methodist Hospital from complications of pneumonia and
diabetes.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, January 9 at the
Westover
Funeral Home, 6337 Hickman Road, Des Moines. Funeral services will be
on
Saturday, January 10 at 2 p.m. at the Ashworth Road Baptist Church,
5300
Ashworth Road, West Des Moines.
Teresa graduated from Hoover High School in 1975. She married Nick Boatwright in 1975. She and Nick spent most of their married life in Seattle, Washington where Teresa worked at the Country Doctor's Clinic as their Billing Specialist. Teresa and her family moved back to Des Moines in 1995. She was employed at the Urbandale Family Clinic.
Teresa was very active in her church, particularly with the Children's Mission. She and Nick loved to cook and had a great fondness for other people and animals. Her lifelong dream was to be a missionary. She will be missed by many.
Teresa was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Smitherman and her sister, Kimberly Smitherman. She is survived by her husband, Nick Boatwright her son, Benjamin Boatwright her daughter, Amelia Boatwright her father and stepmother, David and Sandra Smitherman her sister and husband, Linda and Ray Livingston one nephew two nieces three great-nephews three great-nieces four grand cats and one dog.
The family has requested that all donations be made to the Baptist Church Mission Fund at 5300 Ashworth Road, West Des Moines, 50266.
