Mrs. Bobby (Virginia M.)
Carpenter, 62, Rt.2, Detroit, (the Woodland community), died Tuesday,
Feb. 11, 1997 at Paris Health Care.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, in Woodland United Methodist Church with the Rev. Pat Sherman officiating and burial will follow in the Woodland Cemetery under the direction of Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Virginia was born April 4, 1934 in St. Morris, LA to William Thurman and Ethel H. Gray Smitherman. She was retired from Lennox and was a member of Woodland United Methodist Church. She married Bobby Carpenter on March 1, 1966 in Hugo.
Surviving are her husband; four sons, Melvin Ray Carpenter of North Richland Hills, TX, Melvin Wayne Allinder of Bedford, TX, James Nelson Allinder of Fort Worth, TX and William Ronnie Allinder of Granbury, TX; a sister, Agnes Addinston of Clarence, LA; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Gary Stuart, Arnold Wayne Vandergriff, Tim Walls, Calvin Gibson, Cotton Coble, Ronny Hargon and James Smith
