Ind. - Services for Walter J Smitherman, 83, a lifelong Mooresville
resident will be at 10a.m. Thursday in Mooresville Friends Church, of
which he was a member. Calling will be
from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. today in
Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel, Mooresville and one hour before
services Thursday in the church. He owned and operated
Smitherman
Hatchery from 1934 until his retirement in 1985. He was a
member
of the Masonic Lodge and the Lions Club. He was the widower of Frances
White Smitherman. Survivors: sons, Jack and Bruce Smitherman;
daughter, Shirley Pauley; seven grandchildren; seven
great-grandchildren.
