Smitherman, 77, Route 1, Coatesvile, former Clay Township Trustee, will
be Wednesday, Dec. 21, at 11 a.m. in Amo Friends Church.
Officiating will be Rev. Dan Smetzer, Rev. Howard Cupp, Rev.
Bob
Garris, Rev. Keith Kirk, and Rev. Ric Schultz, with burial in
Coatesville Cemetery. Calling will be Tuesday, Dec. 20 in
Weaver
Funeral Home, Danville, from 3 to 8 p.m.
Born March 30, 1911 in Mooresville, he was the son of Henry and Iva Hite Smitherman. April 29, 1933 he married Lois Beck at Hadley and she survives.
Mr. Smitherman died Sunday, Dec. 18 at Medco Nursing Home in Danville.
Surviving with his wife are sons: John Smitherman, Danville, Mark Smitherman, Coatesville, and Marvin Smitherman MD, Grand Rapids, Mi., daughters: Mary Jane Hartung, Danville and Bonnie Covey, Peachtree City, Ga; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; sister, Waneta Allison, Mooresville. He was preceded in death by one son and one brother.
