Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005, in First Church of the Nazarene in Portland
for William L. Smitherman, who died Dec. 23 at age 93.
Mr. Smitherman was born March 30, 1912, in Coal Creek, Ala. He moved to Vancouver in 1944, and to Portland in 1951, and was a foreman for ESCO, where he worked for 23 years. He was a member of the church for more than 50 years. In 1938, he married Edna Shepherd.
Survivors include his wife; son, Robert L.; and daughter, Joani Azzone.
