Winnie M. Stevens, a member of First Baptist Church of Jackson, Ala., died Saturday at an area health care center. She was 99.
Stevens was a native of Chilton County, Ala., and a lifelong resident of Jackson. She was a homemaker, volunteer at Jackson Hospital and member of Eastern Star since 1930.
Survivors include one son, Joseph T. Stevens Jr. of Port St. Joe, Fla.; one daughter, Carolyn Talbot of Daphne; one brother, Hugh Smitherman of Alexander; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson, where the funeral is set for 10 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Pine Crest Cemetery in Jackson.
