nancy ethel (stewart) smitherman 

Nancy Ethel Stewart Smitherman, 78, of De Leon, went home to her Lord and Savior Friday, October 4, 2019, with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Gorman, Texas to Fisher and Oleta Power Stewart May 9, 1941.
Nancy married Roy Malvin Smitheman May 25, 1957, in De Leon.

Nancy was a long-time member of the Church of Christ. She joined membership with the Church in 1972 and she deeply loved her church family. She attended high school in De Leon and after marriage she and Roy raised their family in west Texas. Once Roy retired, they returned to their home of De Leon in 1985. Nancy was a devoted and loving homemaker for her family. She enjoyed many hobbies including crocheting, needle working, sewing, gardening, spending time outdoors and camping. Over the years, their family would camp often at Proctor Lake making many wonderful family memories. Nancy’s greatest joy in life was her family. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant so much to her. She will be deeply missed by her family, many friends, and all who loved her.

She is survived by her two children, Tammy Lea Smitherman and Ricky Smitherman and wife, Janelle; grandchildren, Audrey Ryan and husband, David, Robert Luke Perry, Brandon Smitherman and wife, Aimee, Lynnette Remington and husband, John, and Crystal Burton and husband, Paul; great-grandchildren, Collin Ryan, Gabby Ryan, Bella Remington, Ethan Remington, Logan Remington, Malcolm Eldridge, Nathaniel Burton, Shyrie Burton, Caleb Burton and Elisha Burton; sisters, Stella Lane and husband, DeWaine, and Pat Sellers; sisters-in-law, Ellen Kea and Betty Smitherman; numerous nieces and nephews; and other extended family.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; parents, Fisher and Oleta Stewart; granddaughter, Chelsi Hefner; brother, Morgan Stewart; nephew, Randy Kea; and brothers-in-law, Delmer Kea and Jerry Smitherman.
