CHARLES ESTES smitherman
Charles Estes Smitherman,
88, died Thursday, June 10, 2004 at Oak Grove Nursing Home. He was born
in Pottsville, TX and was raised in Hamilton and lived in Port Arthur
for 70 years. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy
during WW II. He retired from Texaco where he worked in the laboratory
for 42 years.
Visitation will be Friday, June 11, 2004 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be under the direction of Clayton Thompson Funeral Home on Saturday, June 12, 2004 at 10:00 am in the funeral home chapel.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sybil Smitherman; a son, Danny Smitherman; and a daughter-in-law, MamieSmitherman.
Survivors include his son, David Smitherman of Corpus Christi, TX; two grandchildren, Bryan Smitherman of Tempe, AZ, Charlotte Wong and her husband Chris of Fort Lauderdale, FL.
He is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Christian Wong and Tatiana Wong, both of Fort Lauderdale, FL.
