john landon smitherman
BRENT John Landon Smitherman,
age 11, of Brent passed away Sept. 23, 2006 with his father, Johnny, at
the Shelby County Airport. Landon was a sixth-grade student at Brent
Elementary School who excelled academically. He was involved in Dixie
Youth Baseball, Upward Basketball and Upward Flag Football. Landon
enjoyed reading, singing, playing baseball, riding the golf cart,
swimming, and building clubhouses with his cousins.
Landon is survived by his mother, Pam Kinard Smitherman; sister, Jessica Smitherman and future brother-in-law, Dale Gann of Brent; grandparents, Garland and Faye Kinard of Brent, Wayne and Betty Jo Smitherman of Randolph; great-grandparents, John and Gladys Bracknell; aunts, Jennifer Smitherman Turner (Chris) of Birmingham, Vicky Kinard Watkins (Toby) and Cheryl Kinard Fondren (Tony); uncle, Shane Hobson (Marie); and cousins, Emma, Lily, Jace, Joab, Darren, Fayth, Will, Zach, Jake, Kaley, Tanner, and Sydney.
Visitation will be held at Ridgeville Church of the Nazarene (Brent) tonight at 6 p.m.. Services will be held at Ridgeville Church of the Nazarene on Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2006 at 10 a.m. with Reverend Carlon Tibbs and Reverend Robert Dabydeen officiating. Burial will follow at Kinard-Mathis Cemetery in Brent with Rocko Funeral Home of Centreville directing.
