Albert Hugh Greiner, 83, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, at Hilltop Manor, Cunningham.

He was born March 24, 1919, on a farm south of Hunter to William and Laura Ethel (Meyers) Greiner.  He married Louise Elaine Smitherman on June 9, 1939, in Buffalo, Okla.

He graduated from Hunter High School in 1937 and attended Fort Hays State University for two years.

He farmed and raised sheep.  He had lived in Haviland since 1943.

He was a member of the soil conservation board for 17 years, Kansas Wheat Growers Association, Haviland school board, United Methodist Church and was a youth group leader.  He was past president of Kiwanis Club, Haviland.

Survivors include a son, Alan, Kingman; three daughters, Judith Tuttle, Grinnell, Janice Parker, McPherson and Dianne Unruh, Greensburg; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Wendell and two sisters, Wilma Mick and Dora Mae Mayer.

Services were Saturday at the United Methodist Church, Haviland, with Pastor John Havens presidiing; burial in Haviland Cemetery.
