Gaylon Smitherman, age 75, of Centreville, Alabama entered into rest on
Thursday March 21, 2019. Charles was born December 24, 1943 in
Randolph, AL to Charles Smitherman and Thelma Wallace Smitherman. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Betty Smitherman of Maplesville; daughter, Angie Smitherman Johnson of Centreville; step sons, Scott Vowell of Randolph and Sean Vowell of Jemison; brother, Harold Riffe(Jewel) and Gerald Smitherman both of Birmingham; sisters, Hazel Smitherman, Inez Waldrop and Faye Nell Tillery all of Randolph; grandchildren, Zach, Tyler and Colby Vowell, Kimmy and Katelynn Johnson; great grandchild, Kenzie Vowell.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Thelma Smitherman; sister, Kitty Sue Smith and granddaughter, Nicole Vowell.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
