John Smitherman, 77, leading
Catoosa County, Georgia, farmer for the last 32 years, died yesterday
morning at his home, Ringgold, Ga., Route 2.
Mr. Smitherman was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by three sons, Taylor Smitherman, Ringgold, Route 4; Crawford Smitherman, Route 2; and Millard Smitherman, Hamilton, Ohio; sister, Mrs. S. Benton, Chattanooga; 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Pleasant Groce Baptist Church at 2 p.m. EST Tuesday, the Rev. Boyd Long officiating.
Burial will be in Tyler Cemetery. Pallbearers, Virgil Crisp, D.D. Lutterll, E.A. Nichols, Harold Black, Claude Teem and James Scott/
