Patricia Stone Mendenhall Buckner, 61, of 179 Bish Road, Siler City died Monday, February 22, 2010 at her residence.
Mrs. Buckner was born May 20, 1948 in Forsyth County but lived most of her life in Chatham County. She was a member of Brookdale Baptist Church and enjoyed working with children. Pat was active in local community activities including Relay for Life and Red Hatters. She loved her family, church and friends. Pat was preceded in death by her first husband, Mike Mendenhall; a sister, Sharon Burnette and her beloved grandmother, Blanche Stone.
She is survived by her husband: Thomas "Mickey" Buckner and three sons: Timothy Michael Mendenhall and wife, Jennifer DiMeo Mendenhall of Oak Ridge, NC, Thomas Wayne Mendenhall and wife, Jennifer Clark Mendenhall of Woodstock, GA, Jeffrey Cameron Mendenhall of Waynesville, NC; mother, Mamie Stone Collins of Tobaccoville, NC; one sister: JoDonna Smitherman of Winston- Salem, NC; grandchildren, Cameron, Nova, Madison, Andrew, Keller and Aaron; step-daughters, Michelle Buckner Evans and husband, Matt of Raleigh, NC and Nichole Buckner Conrad and husband, Josh of Bonlee, NC
The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 24, 2010 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC and at other times at the family home. The funeral will be Thursday, February 25, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Brookdale Baptist Church, P. O. Box 428, Siler City with Rev. Christopher St. Jean and Rev. Randy Queen officiating. Burial will follow in Loves Creek Baptist Cemetery, Siler City.
