Mrs. Sara Smitherman Smith, age
70, of 2034 Sharon Lane, Charlotte, died Sunday, January 25, 1987, at
Presbyterian Hospital. Mrs. Smith was born in Troy, NC, on December 14,
1916, and was the daughter of the late Noah W. and Elizabeth Tomlinson
Smitherman.
Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a member of Mouzon United Methodist Church and the Myers Park Country Club.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 27, 1987, from Mouzon United Methodist Church, conducted by the Reverend Lawrence Barden and Dr. Bernard Fitzgerald. Interment will be at 2:30 PM from Southside Cemetery in Troy, NC.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, Walter L. Smith; a son, Sam W Smith of Charlotte; a daughter, Miss Sally A. Smith of Fort Lauderdale, FL; a brother, James S. Smitherman, Jr. of Troy, NC; and a gradndaughter, Miss Christian M. Smith of Charlotte.
Active pallbearers will be Harry L. Curtis Wesley Ledford, Walter Byrd, Christopher Link, J.B. McCoy III, and F.J. Blythe, Jr.
The family requests that memorials be made to Mouzon United Methodist Church, 3100 Selwyn Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28209.
