Willie Bell Smitherman, age 75
of 3402 35th Court East, died June 15, 1998 at DCH Regional Medical
Center. Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Memory Chapel
with Dr. Herb Thomas and Rev. Ed King officiating. Burial will be
in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Memory Chapel directing.
Survivors include daughters Peggy Sanders (Murray), Northport; Linda Edmonds (Doug), Tuscaloosa; and son Billy Don Smitherman (Wanda), Tuscaloosa; sister; Mildred Walker, Tuscaloosa; brother Roger Scarbrough, Huntington Beach, Calif.; eleven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lee Smitherman; son Jerry Lee Smitherman; her parents, Jessie and Edna Scarbrough; brothers, Paul Scarbrough and Otis Scarbrough; sister, Doris Barnett; great-grandchild, Shelby Lynn Strickland.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Donnie Smitherman, MIckey Smitherman, Mike Miller, Phil Edmonds, Lee Edmonds, Ross Strickland, Jeff Fulks, Tony Newman, Andy Gray.
Honorary pallbearers are her special doctor, Steven Copeland, Ruth Sunday School Class, Circlewood Baptist members, neighbors of 35th Ct. East, Mr. & Mrs. Randall Pate, Mrs. Oma Corder, Mr. & Mrs. Wilton Gay, Mr. & Mrs. Otis Franklin, Myrtle Edmonds, Lawson Edmonds, Peggy Sue and Dickey Hoagland, Mr. & Mrs. Aaron Strickland, Mrs. Fay Hamner, Mrs. Ivy Fulks, employees of Forest Manor, Station One, Mrs. Cartherine Leland, Mr. & Mrs. Pete Hinton, Mrs. Mary Hall, and Mrs. Mildred Townsend.
